Project description
This project was created as part of the MA Theater and Digitality study of Fachhochschule Dortmund, at the Akademie für Theater und Digitalität.
The play, focuses on the dynamics between the two protagonists the Young Lady and Arnold Ingelmann.
As an actor there were some challenges to the character of Ingelmann. Primarily that he was written in the original text as an artificial intelligence. We had to figure out during the rehearsal period, how could we portray him, so it doesn't end up as a stereotypical robot. Therefore, we worked on little mannerisms, ticks, and habits both in his physical and vocal representation.
The other challenge was from a practical perspective. That we had to navigate on a very small area, so it was important to pay attention to marks even more than usual.
We utilized two projections in the play, one for the background and another for the floor, so we could create the environment fitting for the story, and control it to our liking. Both with the projections and the soundscape the goal was to make an atmosphere, that works towards the unusual feeling of the play.
